Treasure Hunting in Downtown Bratislava

Treasure Hunt Bratislava is a team-building game that takes you to the heart of the Slovak capital. The game is based on treasure hunting with a mobile app on a tablet, which guides you to 30 treasures in the center of Slovakia's capital.

The playing field is designed to cover not only Main Square but also Rázus Embankment on the left bank of the Danube and Bratislava Castle.

Bratislava Castle

Bratislava Castle, the city's landmark, is one of the places where correct answers earn you higher scores. From the castle hill, you'll get a breathtaking view of all of Bratislava and its surroundings.

The castle boasts a rich history that goes back to the Bronze Age. Today it houses the Slovak National Museum and is open to the public.

Game Strategy

In the Treasure Hunt program, the playing strategy is entirely up to you. You decide in what order you visit the treasures and which route you take.

You can also decide whether to prioritize quantity (trying to collect as many treasures as possible) or quality (giving each treasure more attention and time).

The game is designed to be physically undemanding, except for a gentle climb on the route up to Bratislava Castle.

1. Bratislava Castle and its gardens: This historic gem is one of the city's most important symbols. Plan at least 3 hours for your visit so you can explore every corner of the castle and its extensive exhibitions. Don't miss the French-style Baroque gardens either, home to many historic statues.

2. Old Bridge: This is the oldest surviving bridge across the Danube in Bratislava. A walk along the riverbank and the view of all of Bratislava from the bridge are an unforgettable experience.

3. Devín Castle: Not far from Bratislava stands this impressive ruin at the confluence of the Danube and the Morava. Devín Castle offers a beautiful view of the surrounding countryside all the way into Austria.

4. Sandberg: This geological formation is the remnant of a sea cliff 14 to 16 million years old. Sandberg is an easy walk from Devín Castle and offers breathtaking views of the area.

5. Minizoo Devín: This small zoo sits below Devín Castle and is home to many birds of prey. It's a great place for families with children, who can feed the animals and even hold some of the birds on their hand.

6. Upside-Down Pyramid of Slovak Radio: This unique building, one of the most interesting examples of 20th-century Slovak architecture, is the headquarters of Slovak Radio. The pyramid is upside down because it widens toward the top.

7. St. Martin's Cathedral: This cathedral, one of the oldest churches in Bratislava, was the coronation site of 11 Hungarian kings and queens. Its tower is decorated with a replica of St. Stephen's tabernacle weighing 300 kg.

8. Reduta Philharmonic: This beautiful Art Nouveau building is home to the Slovak Philharmonic. Inside, you'll also find one of the most beautiful concert halls in Slovakia.

9. National Theater Opera: This historic building, one of the most important theaters in Slovakia, is home to opera and ballet. Its interior is richly decorated and features a magnificent chandelier.

10. Blue Church: This church is one of the finest examples of Art Nouveau architecture in Slovakia. It's known for its blue color, which you'll see not only on the exterior but also in the interior.

11. Gothic church tower in Janko Kráľ Park: This tower is all that remains of a church destroyed during the Napoleonic Wars. Today it's a romantic spot with a beautiful view of Bratislava and the Danube.

If you're still up for a trip after the game, you don't have to stay in the Old Town. Devín Castle towers above the confluence of the Danube and the Morava, and from its ruins you can see all the way to Austria.

The UFO observation restaurant sits on the pylon of the SNP Bridge, right above the Danube. It's a great opportunity for a group dinner with a view of the castle and Petržalka.

Kamzík is a wooded hill above the city with an unmistakable TV tower. The surrounding forest park invites quiet walks; comfortable shoes are all you need.
