Corporate Event Entertainment with Four Stands

Looking for entertainment for your corporate event, but don't want to build the whole evening around one themed program? We walk through four stands and workshops we set up next to the buffet, the conference hall or the bar: soap, chocolate, a quiz and candles. For each one, you'll find when it fits, what we need from you, how long a guest stays and what they take home.

Corporate Event Entertainment with Four Stands

Corporate event entertainment doesn't have to mean an elaborate half-day program. Inquiries from companies and event agencies keep repeating the same wish: the party, conference or partner meeting already has its script, and it's missing one extra live activity.

For moments like these, we have four stands and workshops that guests walk up to on their own, whenever they feel like it. Here's an overview of how they differ and what to prepare for each one.

Corporate Event Entertainment Without a Script

Themed evenings like Don Maccarone or an Oktoberfest Party have their own story, costumes and dramaturgy. They work great when the whole evening should rest on one complete program.

But many events have their center of gravity elsewhere. A conference relies on talks, a partner meeting on negotiations, and a party on music and a buffet.

In that case, all you need is a station that runs in parallel and doesn't push anyone into anything. The stand mustn't compete with the main program, and yet guests still take something concrete away from it.

Soap Workshop

The Soap Workshop is the most intimate of the four. It's a great fit for a training session, a company day for a smaller team, or a party where people know each other and want to spend a while making things at one table.

All we need from the organizer is electricity, so just pick a spot near an outlet. That's why we can set the workshop up in a meeting room, a private hotel lounge or a quiet corner of a restaurant.

Guests spend more time here than at the other stands, because it's a real hands-on workshop with an instructor. They head home with a bar of soap they made themselves.

After a morning full of presentations, it's a welcome change of pace. Hands work, the mind rests.

Chocolate Stand

At a large party or conference, the Chocolate Stand works best. It's an interactive station guests visit continuously, so there's no line like at a workshop with a fixed start time.

It handles large groups too. We need electricity and access to water, which in a hotel or conference center usually means a spot near the catering facilities.

Guests stop by, work with chocolate under an instructor's guidance and move on with their own sweet creation in hand.

At partner meetings, the stand has one more advantage. Conversation flows more easily over chocolate than at a round table.

Quiz Stand

The newest program in our lineup is the Quiz Stand. All it needs is a small table, a few tablets and an instructor. It doesn't need electricity at all.

It's a pub quiz running on our own game platform, TerraHunt, with questions from the Brain Party program. Guests pick up a tablet, answer a series of questions and are back at the coffee or the bar within a few minutes.

Scores add up as the event goes on, and we announce the winner at the end. The announcement is what gives the stand its momentum: whoever finds out they're in second place often comes back.

The stand handles large groups and can run just during a break or all evening long. If you want a competition for everyone at once, Brain Party or the Remote Pub Quiz is the better pick.

Candle Making Workshop

The Candle Making Workshop works as an open station. Guests come and go as they please; nobody waits for a start time. Like the Soap Workshop, it only needs electricity.

Guests make a candle in a glass, plus tealights and shaped candles. The program suits medium and larger groups, calmer parties and events where there should be room for conversation.

Guests leave with their own candle, which reminds them of the event back home. At partner meetings, it works as a small gift everyone made themselves.

Side-by-Side Comparison

Corporate event entertainment comes down to three things: group size, access to electricity and water, and how long the breaks will be. Then use this overview to pick the right one.

  • Soap Workshop: smaller groups, hands-on workshop with an instructor, needs only electricity, guests take home their own soap.
  • Chocolate Stand: works for large groups too, guests drop by continuously, needs electricity and water, the result is their own chocolate creation.
  • Quiz Stand: works for large groups too, a short stop at a tablet, runs without electricity, the result is a place in the rankings and the winner announcement.
  • Candle Making Workshop: medium and larger groups, open station, needs only electricity, the result is a candle in a glass, a tealight or a shaped candle.

How to Combine Stands

Corporate event entertainment doesn't have to rest on a single stand. Next to a Don Maccarone themed evening or an Oktoberfest party, it creates a spot with less competing and more talking. It complements a tasting just as well.

At conferences, running the Chocolate Stand and the Quiz Stand in parallel is a proven pair. One draws people in with sweets, the other with competition, and during breaks guests split up on their own.

We provide bands, DJs and shows as part of our accompanying entertainment program. For a whole December evening, see our overview of Christmas parties; for the start of the year, our overview of New Year's company parties.

How Many Stands to Set Up

The number depends on how long the event runs and how many guests are in the room at the same time. At a longer conference with several hundred people, it makes sense to set up two stands at opposite ends of the foyer so people don't crowd around one spot.

For a smaller party, one is enough. Send us a floor plan of the space and the break schedule, and we'll suggest where to place the stands.

A Stand in the Hotel Foyer

Corporate event entertainment in a hotel belongs in the foyer: every guest passes through it. The Quiz Stand gets by without an outlet; for the Chocolate Stand, it's good to have water within reach.

Check with the hotel in advance whether the foyer serves as an emergency exit route or registration area during the event. We'll then set up the stand so it's not in the way.

Programs in English

Partner meetings are often international, and corporate event entertainment has to keep up. We also run hosting and programs in English, so the instructors at the stand can handle a mixed audience without an interpreter.

Corporate event entertainment starts with two questions: where the stand will be and how many guests will pass through the room during the program. Based on that, we'll choose between a workshop with an instructor and an open station. Planning a conference with long breaks and a foyer without outlets? Tell us how many guests you expect, and we'll suggest a combination of stands.

FAQ

How many guests can a stand handle?

The Soap Workshop is for 5 to 60 guests, the Candle Making Workshop for 20 to 200. The Chocolate Stand handles 10 to 500 guests and the Quiz Stand 20 to 500, because at both of them guests drop by continuously.

What do you need from the organizer?

The Soap and Candle Making Workshops only need electricity. The Chocolate Stand needs electricity and access to water. The Quiz Stand just needs a small table and chairs; we bring the tablets and the instructor.

How long does a stand run at an event?

The Chocolate Stand and the Candle Making Workshop are planned for two hours, the Soap Workshop for two to two and a half. The Quiz Stand runs two to six hours depending on the event, even just during conference breaks.

Can you set up two stands at once?

Yes. At conferences, the Chocolate Stand and the Quiz Stand work well side by side, and at longer events with hundreds of guests we place them at opposite ends of the foyer. A stand also complements a themed evening such as Don Maccarone or the Oktoberfest Party.

Do the instructors run the stands in English?

Yes. All four programs have an English version and the instructors handle a mixed audience without an interpreter, which suits international partner meetings.

Summary

  • A stand is one activity next to the main program: guests come on their own, nobody is pushed.
  • The Soap Workshop (5 to 60 guests) and the Candle Making Workshop (20 to 200 guests) only need electricity.
  • The Chocolate Stand (10 to 500 guests, electricity and water) and the Quiz Stand (20 to 500 guests, no electricity) handle a conference or a large party.
  • At a conference, two stands at opposite ends of the foyer work well. We run all four in English.
