About the Event

We implement an online development program using MS Teams or Zoom. After a short introduction, the first communication activity is focused on building trust in the group and tuning in on the topic. We will fully immerse ourselves in it by training in active listening and verifying the heard information by paraphrasing.

Furthermore, we will build on the ability to distinguish and appropriately use description (based on objective observation) and evaluation (communication of our subjective opinion). From this topic we will move on to the following area concerning the role of emotions in communication and their Non-violent expression.

We will focus both on communicating one's own emotions and needs in such a way that the other can accept it without unnecessary conflicts, and on an empathic response if we want to help the other process his emotions and prevent impending conflict. Finally, we summarize the most important points of the training, answer all questions and say goodbye by sharing the most important knowledge that participants gain from the program.

Program structure - 1,5 h
  • 10 min – introduction of the program, lecturer and participants

  • 10 min – communication icebreaker

  • 15 min – active listening – personal characteristics, exercises in pairs, joint reflection

  • 15 min – observation vs. evaluation – definition, training with the help of audio recordings, reflection

  • 25 min – the role of emotions – description, self-communication, empathetic reaction

  • 10 min – summary, time for questions

  • 05 min – What am I leaving with? - sharing the most important knowledge acquired by the participants

What Is Non-violent Communication
Non-violent communication (NVC) is a method aimed at increasing understanding between people while leading them to find a win-win solution. This approach not only brings effective techniques for everyday life, but also helps to understand the causes and contexts of misunderstandings and conflicts in interpersonal communication.
Using Non-violent Communication
Non-violent communication practicing improves the ability to express one's emotions and desires so that they are truly heard, while deepening the ability to listen empathetically to others. The principles of NVC are widely used, for example, in education, parenting, business and organizational environments, psychotherapy or peace programs in conflict areas.
